Operations Assessment – Prop 218 Elections Results
The Aliso Water District (“District”) held a public hearing on June 30, 2026 to receive public comment and count the received ballots for and against the proposed increase to the District’s Operations Assessment. Of the ballots received, 97% were cast in favor of the increased assessment. The total maximum authorized assessment rate is now $90.00 per acre. The Board of Directors will set the rate annually and it cannot exceed $90.00 per acre without additional authorization

In 2014, the California Sustainable Groundwater Management Act was signed into law to provide local agencies with the framework to manage groundwater basins in a sustainable manner, recognizing that groundwater is most effectively managed at the local level. The Aliso Water District Groundwater Sustainability Agency (GSA) represents the interests of the groundwater users within the Aliso Water District.
